Thru the ages, God has made Himself known to man. His existence, majesty, and power are revealed in His creation but His mind and will have been communicated by His spoken word. The writer of Hebrews tells us that God’s many ways of speaking unto man since the beginning of time culminated in the revelation of His Son, Jesus Christ. Christ then chose and dispatched His apostles to make known this full and final revelation. Is God still speaking to man apart from His already revealed word? We turn to the scriptures for answers in this broadcast of Let the Bible Speak.

Since the dawn of time, God has had chosen people through whom He worked His purposes in the world. The godly line, for example, can be traced from Seth to Christ in the Old Testament. In particular, God created a nation from the loins of Abraham, constituting His chosen people in that dispensation. They were separated from all other nations of the earth, selected by God for service in His plan to redeem the fallen human race. When Moses gave them the law to govern them in Exodus through Deuteronomy, he used the word “holy” more than 200 times. They were not, however, always a holy people. They lost their identity as the people of God. In the same way, the church constitutes the people of God today and we are called to be a holy people. Is the church maintaining its peculiarity and identity today?

If we could communicate with the dead, what would they say? God has not given us nor those on the other side that ability. There are, however, at least three occasions in scripture where the dead are recorded as speaking. From these three conversations, we learn many vital lessons about living and dying.
